I was in your position a few years ago and know what it’s like to not know what to do 
, (been there done that and got the t-shirt too), where to go to learn. I struggled for a long time with WordPress, but have taught myself quite a lot, have read the e-books, books and have taken classes, webinars, and teleseminars. Some good, some great but more than I can count not very helpful 
at all and were so a waste of my time and money. So don’t make the same mistakes I did! Let me help you!

Just a few years ago the most advanced Internet users knew what actually a blog is. Nowadays every kid on the block seems to have a blog and you meet hundreds of websites hosted on BlogSpot or say WordPress.
I would like to give you some insight into what actually a blog is and give a guide on starting a WordPress website.
WordPress is a website building system or a Content Management System originally designed for building web blogs. For those of you that are new to web building, a blog or weblog is simply a website with the content arranged chronologically for example like a diary.
The WordPress (Content Management System) is theme based which means that you can change designs any time you want while the content and the settings remain the same in most cases.
There are plenty of free professional themes available online as well as template solutions by numerous companies.
While there is nothing wrong with the free themes I use and love StudioPress which have premium themes.
StudioPress offers a great package where you can purchase the entire Pro package of themes and that includes the Genesis Framework and each time they bring out a new theme you get it for free as well! Now how cool is that??? 
Apart from design changes, you can choose what functionality to have on your WordPress website. Thanks to various widgets and plugins you can create a real monster with the features that would cost tens of hundreds of dollars if ordered on a custom basis for a custom website.
Although originally designed for bloggers it is a very powerful platform for building standard websites.
